“Honouring Diverse Voices”
Human Rights Day is observed on December 10th of every year. This commemorates the day on which, in 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In 1950, the Assembly passed resolution 423 (V), inviting all States and interested organizations to observe 10 December of each year as Human Rights Day. Individuals, institutions and social profits come together to recommit to the principle that, all persons are equal in dignity, rights and responsibilities without regard to race, religious beliefs, colour, gender identity, physical disability, age, ancestry, place of origin, sexual orientation or otherwise.
This year marks the 71st anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). The MCA will be joining other communities around the world on December 10, 2019 for the Celebration of Human Rights Day with theme “Honouring Diverse Voices”.
