Ceremony at the Fort McMurray Royal Canadian Legion to commemorate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
Branch 165 Royal Canadian Legion Fort McMurray will be holding a ceremony to commemorate the life and service of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at the Branch and the accession of His Majesty King Charles III to the throne.
The ceremony will take place at the cenotaph area of the Branch at 9317 Huggard Street at 11am on September 19.
Participants are encouraged to arrive early by 10:30. parking may be limited.
All members of the public are welcome to come to this ceremony. We would ask silence and respect during the ceremony itself. Please silence all devices during the ceremony.
The ceremony will run by First Vice President Michael Gray. Format will be as follows
10:00 am Branch opens
10:45 am colour party ,veterans and uniformed participants will assemble in the lane in front of the legion to begin the march past.
11:00 am Ceremony begins with;

Individuals may place their poppy at the cenotaph in remembrance
After the ceremony refreshments will be available in the branch. There will be a toast by the Branch Treasurer to the memory of Her Majesty and to mark the new sovereign coming to the throne.
