These workshops are intended for individuals 18 or older who are unemployed or marginally employed and require increased knowledge in computer skills, workplace reading and writing skills, or job serach strategies to strengthen their ability to find and maintain employment. Additional tutoring is available for participants for whom English is a second language.
Writing in the workplace has evolved over the years and most information is now communicated in the form of a written document, therefore the ability to communicate effectively is key. Through this workshop you will learn writing techniques to convey messages that are professional, clear, and concise for work-related correspondence. You will also work on improving your reading skills to be ready for typical workplace-related documents by utilizing various practices to increase productivity.
