Join contemporary poet Jamal-e-Fatima, and mixed-media artist Hira Noor on January 29 in an online discussion surrounding their debut collection of poetry called “it’s past midnight somewhere.”
This virtual Q&A will dive deep into who Jamal and Hira are as artists, what the poems and illustrations they have created mean to them, and what their artistic process has been like. There will be opportunities for attendees to submit their own questions to be answered by the artists, as well.

About “it’s past midnight somewhere”

The imagery is deep, the essence is strong, and the value is healing. Jamal-e-Fatima and Hira Noor’s collection of poetry, “it’s past midnight somewhere,” is all about revisiting pain, reclaiming heritage and rediscovering bliss in solitude.
Zarqa Nawas, writer and director of CBC’s hit comedy show “Little Mosque on the Prairie” called the book “An emotional journey that’s both fantastical and relatable.”
