True Story is a documentary series by Anishinaabe director Dinae Robinson, co-written with Métis screenwriter Jessica Landry, both of whom are from Treaty One Territory.
Watch free screenings of this two-part documentary on Nov. 13 (Part 1) and Nov. 20 (Part 2) to hear the history of the relationship between Indigenous and settler people as told by Indigenous voices, relying on oral history.
True Story Part 1 starts with the creation stories of many nations, sharing the history of Indigenous peoples prior to contact, and concludes with the creation of the Indian Act in 1876.
A free screening of True Story Part 1 (1h 28m) will be held at Landmark Cinema on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m.
