2026 National Day For Truth and Reconciliation

This year’s walk will begin and end at Kiyām Community Park.

The route will take participants north along Franklin Avenue, east along Morrison Street, becoming Clearwater Drive, then west along Hardin Street before returning to Kiyām Community Park.

The day begins at 10 a.m. with a community gathering and opening remarks, followed by the solidarity walk at 11 a.m. Light refreshments will be available following the walk.

Participants are invited to help create a community heart garden by decorating and planting a heart in memory of the children lost to the residential school system and in honour of Survivors and their families. Each heart represents remembrance, while the act of planting it symbolizes a personal commitment to reconciliation. People of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to take part.
