Grant funding is an important revenue source for many non-profit agencies; however, it can be challenging to get started, manage the time and effort involved, and feel confident in planning, preparing, and submitting applications.

This workshop will help participants understand the fundamentals of grantsmanship and develop the necessary skills to successfully secure grant funding. Through discussion, activities, examples, and Q&A, this interactive session will focus on practical elements of grant and proposal writing, including:

outreach to funders,

essential components of grant proposals,

common planning methodologies,

strong and compelling project rationales,

techniques and tips for writing, refining, and submitting applications, and

developing systems and efficiencies in grant seeking.

Participants are encouraged to bring information on current or past projects that can be used as examples for developing elements of a program plan, and/or feedback and coaching support.

The workshop will also include a Grant Seeking Basics Workbook that includes general grant seeking information, worksheets, tools, templates, and other resources, including examples of budgets, work plans, and evaluation plans.
