Join It’s Time to Read on June 25 – head to the movie theatre for a free evening showing of Sweet Summer Powwow, featuring Indigenous actor and hometown star Tatyana Baptiste.
Attendees can take photos with Baptiste before the screening starts, and participate in a Q & A panel after the film.
Seating is first-come first-served, and no registration is required.
The film tells the story of how a young Indigenous couple get a break from their troubled lives when they find each other through a summer of love on the Powwow circuit.
Tatyana Rose Baptiste is an Indigenous-Canadian actor and artist who wants to inspire other young Indigenous artists to pursue their dreams, and make a difference in the entertainment industry.
Tatyana is originally from the territories of the Syilx-speaking people and is a status member from the Osoyoos Indian Band.
