The Girls with Grit Sport Summit is back. A two day event celebrating and empowering girls through sport!
In September 2024 we hosted our first Girls with Grit Sport Summit- a two-day event aimed at empowering girls through sport participation. By age 14, girls drop out of sport at twice the rate of boys the same age (Women’s Sport Foundation). At the Wood Buffalo Sport Connection, we want to work towards changing this by providing young females with the opportunity to feel like rock stars, and build them up so they feel confident trying new sports and working towards being active for life. This year we will open the summit to females ages 8-13.
