“Where We Come From and Where We Are Going”
This highly engaging and impactful one-day Indigenous Awareness Training is designed to support organizations in fulfilling the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action — specifically Call #57 (education for public servants) and Call #92 (corporate responsibility in reconciliation).
Led by Holly Fortier, a Cree/Dene educator from Fort McKay First Nation, this training has been delivered to thousands of participants across Canada since 2007, including government employees, corporate leaders, educators, health workers, first responders, and more. Holly brings not only expert knowledge but also powerful personal insight rooted in her family’s lived experience with residential schools.
Through this workshop, participants gain a deeper understanding of the shared history between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada, the legacy of colonization, and the path toward reconciliation. Presented in a respectful, engaging, and inclusive manner, Holly’s training combines PowerPoint, storytelling, film clips, statistics, audience participation, and a comprehensive 100+ page take-home manual to accommodate all learning styles.
