The history of dance in the Philippines dates back to the pre-colonial era, with various Indigenous groups performing dances for rituals, ceremonies and storytelling. The Tiklos dance is a traditional folk dance, originating from the regions of Panay and Leyte, which has traditionally been performed as a means of social interaction and cultural expression among the working class of the Philippines.
Join the Multicultural Association of Wood Buffalo and you, too, can learn this fun and lively dance from the Philippines, as we host a free Tiklos dance workshop!
