WISP Employer Information Sessions

Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo employers are invited to come and learn about the Workforce Immigration and Support Program (WISP).

Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo is proud to be a designated community under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program’s Rural Renewal Stream. The Rural Renewal Stream allows employers to addresses current labour needs and skill shortages by giving eligible workers the opportunity to immigrate to Alberta as a Provincial Nominee.

Administered by Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo Economic Development and Tourism (FMWBEDT), the Workforce Immigrant & Support Program (WISP) is our community approach in assisting local employers’ experiencing ongoing labour shortages. The program’s goal is to attract and retain newcomers to become long-term residents of Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo while filling local labour demands. With our partners, WISP provides information sessions and connections to community resources for both employers and eligible candidates.
